I've come to think that they have studied price perfection for the U.S. already, and are so confident their price will rock, they are making us wait on purpose.
Not going to happen...still too close to the price of the tc Release 7.0.

Think at least $23k for the FR-S. Mark my words Bespoke will be standard. So that is why I am pricing it a bit higher. No way this car will ever be $21k. Thats below a Honda Civic Si coupe.

They maybe making us wait but we all kinda know what the range is going to be. We hope...hehe!

We could get a surprise and see this..but I doubt it...

Hoping for this....
FR-S $22.5K with Bespoke
BRZ Premium $23,500 with Nav
BRZ Limited $25.5K with everything

But more likely it will be this...
FR-S $23K with Bespoke
BRZ Premium $24 with Nav
BRZ Limited $26K with everything

did you see the photos taken of the Frs at the scion commercial shoot? the main head unit was NOT BeSpoke. Now I'm not saying you're wrong I'm just asking if you realized that the car that they're representing in the commercial doesn't have Bespoke as standard.

yeah we all want bespoke but why would they present they're halo car with out all the standard features shown?

Think competition too. The Hyundai Genesis will cost the same and have way more from a non enthusiast point of view.

Its fine. I have that gut feeling it will be FOR SURE 100% between 21K and 23K.

Hmm but the JDM 86 trim level equivalent to an FR-S is in the high 20's. No import/duty fees in Japan. And there's a healthier market for compact, lower HP cars for enthusiasts in EU and Japan than in the US. I can't fathom how the FR-S would be below $25k? Jack Hollis announced "under $30k" and never gave us an "under $25k" update (the next tier down when talking ballpark). FR-S price expectations on this forum seem a little too optimistic to me (just trying to be realistic here)...

Also, a veteran Scion rep who has been there since the brand's inception in '03 and attends regional meetings with corporate "higher ups" tells me this will be a highly exclusive car sold in extremely limited quantity. Dealers would be lucky to get 1 or 2 a month; some won't get any. FR-S will be exclusive among Scions as LFA is exclusive among Lexuses (somewhat exaggerated but same gist). Because of that, I think it's invalid to compare tC prices. "FR-S" isn't even 2 letters like all other Scion models. The Scion badge is only for marketing and I don't see it as an exception/excuse for it to be priced lower than the rest of the world since core costs are coming from the same pot as the 86/GT 86 overseas.

That's the same thing they said about the tC in '04-'05... I had to drive 40 miles from home in L.A. just to test drive a tC manual in '06. When I picked up my tC RS2 a few weeks later, it was the only tC on the lot. So it doesn't surprise me the higher volume dealers will only get 1 or 2 a month in allocation, but as with the tC, it's probably due to production limits rather than a desire to keep the car exclusive. As the 86/FR-S/BRZ becomes more popular, Subaru or Toyota will probably open up another manufacturing line somewhere in the world.

^Actually you're right. I test drove the 1st gray manual tC in my region (from same dealer I mentioned) in Summer '04. Quantity was very limited 1st few months but eventually filled up so it's all sales talk. Will probably be the same for FR-S. Sadly, this doesn't change the fact it's coming from the same pot as the high $20k 86/GT 86.

I have a feeling you guys with the prices is going to be disappointed. I think it will be closer to 24k for the FR-S with destination charge. I think it's going to mirror the Mx5 base price

FRS manual $23,250+750 dest.
FRS auto $24,250+750 dest.

This car will be at least 4k more than a Tc even though the Tc comes with more standard features.

Toyota GT 86 Starts at $39,400 in the U.K.

By Paul Lienert, Correspondent | Published Feb 3, 2012
  • Toyota continues the global rollout of its retro-inspired 86 sports car, with the two-seater slated to go on sale in the U.K. in June.
  • The car will be badged in the U.K. as the GT 86 and priced from just under $40,000.
  • Prices in Japan start at $25,600, while U.S. prices will start at less than $30,000.

LONDON — Toyota continues the global rollout of its retro-inspired 86 sports car, with the two-seater slated to go on sale in the U.K. in June, badged as the GT 86 and priced from just under $40,000.
Toyota on Friday said $39,400 is the "entry, on-the-road price" for the GT 86. Dealers in the U.K. already have begun taking orders.
Production starts in March for the Japanese domestic market, where prices for the car — called simply Toyota 86 — will range from $25,600 for a bare-bones "customizable" model to $38,200 for the top-of-the-line GT Limited edition.
In the U.S., the Toyota 86 morphs into the Scion FR-S. Stickers haven't been officially announced, but Toyota has said prices will start from less than $30,000.
Inside Line says: Prices, like the car itself, are all over the map.
