I would assume that swapping from the catted stock front pipe to a non-cat front pipe means that you would fail future emissions tests?

Or is the engine clean enough that you would still pass?

im running stock exhaust with just front pipe(no cat) and theres def a difference. there is a little rasp and i passed emissions on my car without the cat. I believe this car has two cats and if you delete one theres no issues. the cat in the header i believe will cause issues because thats where the two o2 sensors are at.

The amount of partial throttle power and response I gained was ridiculous. I had installed a aFe R5 filter previously and my butt dyno was like "meh I think I got a bit more power..." After the front pipe it was like "dayum!" It was that noticeable, the increase in power and response. I'm quite positive if I granny/feather the throttle for MPG, I'd get quite a bit more over the factory front pipe.

Only mods I have that would affect the engine output is the aFe r5 drop in, and the up pipe. This leads me to believe that the stock fuel map is ridiculous rich for these 2 mods to make this much of a difference.
You are correct, the stock fuel mapping is rich -- quite rich for an N/A car. I'm sure you are feeling the difference -- that is a big restriction you removed from the exhaust, increasing flow.

Add a header and tune and you will have no more torque dip at all, and very nice power and torque gains across the board.

If I don't go innovate this is my plan for exhaust setup.

I'm looking for OEM sound level or less with the best performance gains.
A turbo will greatly quiet down any exhaust, as well as kill a bunch of rasp so you'll probably be EXTREMELY quiet with the stock muffler and a turbo.

Typically when you open up the exhaust on a otherwise stock car you'd expect the to gain in the top end and maybe even lose some at the low end and with partial throttle. The willingness of the car to pull forward with only slight throttle after installing the front pipe really caught me by surprise. I'm sure when you go WOT the difference may or may not be as noticeable, but the difference when just putting around is really that big IMO.

Did you have the header in before you did the front pipe?
