I asked myself the same question. Share Gem share!! Looks REALLY Good, and I know you dont fuck around with make shift solutions, you go with the real deal.

so far I've tested it just a bit, not much, but so far it totally meets my approval. Also, many thanks for the warm sentiments. It's really clean, absolutely no cutting, no un crimping of oe connections, its disconnection OF ONE factory quick connect using a company23 tool. You add in a male end and a female end to reconnect the quick connect that you take apart restoring it to factory, again simply adding in the zeitronics sensor in line. He did a really nice job Frankly, I was impressed at how clean it was vs many of the other solutions out there. So long as the clamping is done right the connectors all lock and are pretty bulletproof as its as non invasive as can be, you hardly touch much. Wish i could tell you more about it however, I installed the e85 nd jumped right into the vortech upgrade so I will get back to you with corn juice results and details, for sure. What can you tell us? Will this be the blower in the standard kit? Or an optional upgrade? Last edited by Amadeus; 09-02-2013 at 02:44 AM. |

Unlikely. Optional upgrade. It is is beyond anything anyone would need for a street or auto x build, simply overkill. Our other brz rocks the standard kit, that we don't even max out spin speed on at redline. The idea of this for me is to leverage my cars oil and cooling system from robispec for more stable sc temperatures for road course use running the smallest pulley they offer. It's for aggressive builders, and costs more than the self lubekit is really all I can share, that confirms the self lube kit is a superior choice for most builds, unless you can justify its costs, with proven needs, you dont need this unit. costs? i dont have those details, I'm sure they will announce it officially in time. Afaik air flow boost plots are the same, but take not my word as gospel, please. For the record I ran the 3.48 tracking my balls off in phx heat without any logged concerns extensively. As you move to a smaller pulley and are logging temps you can see a rise in correlation to spin speed. Moving to 3.33 was fine, really similar temps, I ran both selflubed Only time I had a issue was when I overfilled not aware the kit was overfill sensitive But that changes as you move to smaller, 3.00(8 rib) and 2.87 create a need for concern for the self lube oil temp in my climate and road course conditions. This addressed those concerns in my scenario, I have yet to put it thru its paces with the new setup, so stay tuned and thanks for a great question. I ran the ebcs 2.87 on the street with the self lube kit with no issue. Drive liketheyshouldarrestme all day in the heat. fine. It's ONLY at the track around noon that this even starts be justified for me. Last edited by 448hpsti; 09-02-2013 at 01:49 PM. |

The new race edition can handle the 2.87" and even smaller if desired.

@pheoxs and @skatery1989 let me try and answer your questions I got via PM for the masses, as it may help, Sorry I have been silent, been under the car alot and chasing leaks, the install is alot to do on your back, with no lift etc, while the self lube kit is a very easy install, this one is up a level in skill, and time.
Vortech had changes to their production stuff since they prototyped my car so the kit that went into my wifes car had some slight differences in tubesets(minor, but enough to make the two kits need to be kept separate) so the install plans to do both cars in once week was a bit much, but got it done, hers perfect. mine still needs a bit of tuning to get right with al the new toys and changes things get worse before they get better sometimes, and I hope tomorrow is better than today today I pulled plugs, redid lots of clamps and yeah Methanol is not a nice substance, it makes rubber sorta 'melt' and when you have a leak, it just tends to make stuff worse. I melted a part of the silicone band on the TB, (yes meth spray leak+heat is ugly)and was chasing a leak that only opened up near redline, so the car ran pretty much near fine the rest of the way, Jeff was great about reading all my logs and saw stuff at idle that suggested there were fuel trim changes that wouldnt be happening unless air flow changed too, so it was hard to find a little 2mm leak, but its enough to throw off the car, made it feel slow and run rich. skatery yes, I will take some pics of the oil return in my car and post them up, its the same exact compressor you have but it is rated to run more impeller rpm for sustained use, track builds, and going big in general pheoxs the WMI kit I am using is pretty neat its the only one that does IDC, and when I bought it I was pretty dissappointed that it could only do MAF or one of the two rails in our car Richard Lamb, the owner of Aquamist in UK has made me a BRZ Summing Module that provides a summed composite out of BOTH injector rails, works with the Hfs4 and the Hfs3. either will work, I would have been happy with the Hfs3 I bought, but in testing, acquired a hfs4 and couldnt be happier with the product, tuning for it feel like going to mars, no tuners have maps, and I trust very few shops. Perrin is a big shop so getting one off specialty work done remote can be tricky, but we're chugging along, just baby steps to make sure I dont kill anything being enthusiastic IDC is the only truly 3D way to run wmi MAF is a 2 dimensional signal and once you go for boost you will have the readings of teh factory maf maxed out in no time Its just great that we have this option and I wish I wasnt the only one doing it, its fun, but a bit scary too No, the install is not for the timid. I thought I killed my car, the install went smooth but then I had all sorts of issues, running rich, stalling, boost leak, evap codes, all sorts of stuff from doing the oil fed sc the e85 stuff and moved to a bigger wmi nozzle, so too much going on at once. the P0300 and P0302 scare me a bit, as did the bucking and all, par for the course when youre miles from home on a newly installed kit and stuff decides to get all slip and slide like from the meth spray, so when you get to install it all, test, and retest your stuff then retest again. Jeff Perrin has been great about reading logs, and helping me diagnose my own errors-what others have as results that are les than all that it can be, may also be and probably are often from poor or less than stellar install, even a small leak costs ya power, so those folks who are driving around kits they put in, or even had a shop put in, if you havent tested for leaks post install, you may be leaving power on the table. The e85 stuff went very smooth, the kit and parts were too easy to use and sealed up with redundant o ring type connections, the WMI is more a animal to deal with. the e85s been done, the WMI is new for this car sucks when you install something and arent sure what you fucked up, but are sure something is off, and its not the kit it is the install, sucks more to not know what you did wrong and have to back track, reinspect etc I busted out the jar, incense sticks and heck yah, I was praying... I did find a leak, and fixed it, but I think there are more...leaks are bad, leaks cost power that was the 1st thing I noticed, that power seemed down. Unable to reach redline the same way I did before, WTF I thought? pretty sure it wasnt the hardware, I did a pressure test with a air line and didnt notice any leaks. Went back and drove the car even called Chris at Perrin all panicking, talking about "OMG I think I killed my motor" yes, things happened, misfire codes threw, knock happened, ran hot, ran rich, ran lean, backfires in exhaust backfires in intake all said and done its been hairy to get it all right. running 100% better today , ran like crap yesterday, sleeping better tonite almost there, once the systems are all in place and working right, yes, I will revisit the dyno its been months Last edited by 448hpsti; 09-11-2013 at 02:46 AM. |

Thanks for sharing! Modifying a car can be so rewarding but also time consuming and emotionally draining.
