Where does your knowledge lie regarding fitment and function? What resources do you have regarding finishing work?

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7535 I'm not questioning anyone's advice on which wheel is optimal for what they perceive my needs to be. I'm just looking for wheels that I like and couldn't care less if anyone else does. IMO hyper black will look great with my red FRS and I'm not a fan of the RPF1 style even if it was available in HB. |

Probably so but thanks anyway. I ended up compromising on 17x8 +38 Rota Grids in hyper black. I couldn't find a 17x9 wheel I liked in hyper black with an acceptable (to me) offset.

Not true for FRS, u get slower track lap time once u passed 8" width and 225 tire width, but for AutoX its better due to lower speed and more acute corning angles

From what I've seen there are lots of 18's lighter than stock, so that argument is invalid. Plus if you look at the how "wheel weight affects performance" thread you'd see that wheels&tires only have a 1.7:1 unsprung:sprung weight ratio; which is hardly significant. Also, recently FT86SpeedFactory's FR-S posted up the fastest lap times at FT86Fest...on 18's. Lastly magazine testing of miatas with the same tire on wheels of different weights actually found the heavier wheels resulted in faster lap times. I'm not advocating people to buy heavy wheels, but you might want to reconsider regurgitating the annoyingly rampant misinformation on the ft86club forums that +sizing your wheels or adding a couple of unsprung pounds somehow makes the ft86 substantially slower. Nice job making yourself look ignorant. Next time you try to debate a topic with someone, maybe prepare yourself with some facts or at least some intelligence. Last edited by mwjcyber; 09-01-2013 at 01:47 AM. |
