Wheel/Tire Advice

Currently running STX with stock rubber on Platinum Widows. (17x7.5, +42) I desperately need new tires, but I am questioning if I should get larger wheels at the same time given I can go up to 265mm/9" for the class.

In reading, I have seen the varying opinions going back and forth on wide vs. narrow / grip vs. speed but I am at a loss as to how to proceed.

My FR-S is lowered .9 in front, 1.0 in rear. New to AutoX, but am really enjoying and see this being a long term thing. Any advice on which way to go forward? Stick with the 17x7.5s, switch back to 17x7s, get 17x8 or even 17x9s?

This car is my daily driver.

If I do go up in size, I am will get the RPF1s for their low weight and great price.

After further review and research, I am going to stick with my current wheels and go with Michelin Pilot Super Sport. They have a great review over at Car & Driver and I think will pair very well for a DD.
