I clamped every vacuum line as suggested when the intake manifold was off. I could see how you could clamp without but would be difficult for sure.

This may help like it did for Nelsmar to see what is under the manifold.

I DO move the one hose out of the way thats clipped into the manifolds side clips

raising the car helps

use the right tools, angled pliers for spring clips and for angling the screw driver I trim off about 4mm of a plastic tab when using a screw clamp, but depending on how you angle tthe screw clamp that may not be needed

using the OE 'holes' they provide for your screwdriver to reach the clamp
think it thru and position the screw part of the clamp right

its all technique, the hose under manifold is done with both hands, and without removal of compressor or TB
stand on driver side
right hand behind manifold
left hand in front
both hands palms down
use both pointer fingers to locate the nozzle, carefully start hose
depending on whether you use a spring clip clamp or a screw clamp its a bit different from there

belt swap is very ez
also able to be done without removal, undo the two alternator bolts last, swing the entire sc plate back swap belts and wala,

both are solo jobs

Thanks again for sending that pic late at night, sorry if I woke you. I was stranded for almost 8 hours -.- This pic saved my ass. Multiple tow trucks refused to tow my car etc when this hose came off. I had no idea it was even there...

And to think the extremes of diagnostic we went through for it to be a damn hose. LOL

When mine blew off, I thought I had blown the motor. I limped it home, and it wouldn't idle for shit, and I could hear the air escaping, but I couldn't find it. I contcted a Subaru tech who said it might be the throttle body gasket so I removed the throttle body and everything looked good. I was about ready to drive it to him to have him take a look at it, when I contacted LJ @FullBlown who immediately assured me I hadn't blown the motor, and that it was just a vacuum line under the manifold. I pulled the manifold that night, and I was back on the road. I am glad that most are finally figuring out about clamping these hoses. If you are running 10+psi it is just a matter of when it will blow off.

You want to avoiding pulling the manifold for numerous reasons.

1. You need replacement, intake manifold gaskets, and throttle body gaskets.
2. You need backup o rings for the port injectors they sheer off/crack easily.
3. You have to remove the injector driver, and plates from both sides of the fuel rails.
4. If its your first time removing it, plan on 3+ hours.

That hose that people have blown off on the CPC Solenoid (Under intake manifold with Blue 2P connector) we blew that off as well. You can just remove the 10mm bolt on the back of the solenoid and slide it forward to get a ziptie or clamp on it. Tracked the car after doing this and haven't had the problem since.

Also removed the charger (10 minutes) so we can install a smaller pulley for more boost, went ahead and removed the AC compressor for a new Air Oil Separator.

you will have to using caution doing this technique if you pull on the solenoid under the manifold it is possible to pull off where the vacum comes out of the manifold. and ya might as well use a hose clamp if you are able to get ahold of it any way
