Oh, did you psych yourself out? Why did you decide to go with it at the last minute? I knew going in I was on for a limited/sport-tech.

At the time I put in the order for the BRZ, I had only wanted the base model. I didn't want the keyless entry, I didn't want the auto HVAC, I didn't even really want the spoiler (although now that I have it, I like it a lot )I did want the fog lights, not because I would use them, but I like the look more than without. I also don't really remember why, but for some reason, I wasn't sure if heated seats and mirrors were available on the base BRZ, and since I intended to use the car year round, heated mirrors were a 'must'. Anyhow, I figured that for the extra money, I was still getting a lot more parts than I could purchase on my own (new spoiler with paint, and fog lights with trim and wiring would alone cost over $2,000 in parts and labour). In retrospect, I did psych myself out.... oh well.... if only I could delete the auto HVAC easily.... |

Thats a cool story! Same can be said about a cup of joe, eating out, watching movies, having an iphone, having a cable bill, etc I won't go into my financial situation and how I did the deal, nor will I tell anyone how to spend their money. No two people share the same financial situation. I went in knowing I wanted a limited at a price I WAS *COMFORTABLE* AT and i walked out with it with no regrets. |

It is interesting to hear all of these differing opinions. I got it because now the BRZ feels like a luxery car after owning two WRXs for the last 10 years.

I think all of this could be solved if Subaru would allow you to pick and choose the options.

That's good. Just so others realize that a little extra that is financed (on credit) is a real cost nevertheless.

Wow, this really has turned into a BRZ Limited hate thread. Listen, it all comes down to what you're using the car for. If its a track car, buy the FRS and save as much money as possible. If you're daily driving the car and spend a decent amount of time driving, buy the Limited no questions asked.
The premium just felt cheaper to me when I checked it out. The nicer seats and lighting and push button start are features I appreciate daily. Even the Limited was lacking in a fee areas so I have made improvements on the interior and I'm still making improvements. Just because its a 30k car doesn't mean it needs to look like one. Just my .02

There was no way I was not going to get the Limited for $1200 more. If people are maxing their money out as it is to get a Premium they should probably not be preaching to others about how to spend their money. You are buying a relatively impractical $25K+ 2 door RWD sports car. If your goal is to save money and be practical you should be looking at used Corollas and used Civics..... |

This thread has run its course. I believe the OP should have enough personal opinions to make some sort of a decision..

$1200 financed over 60 months at 1.9% financing is roughly $21 or so a month or about $60 in interest assuming I carried the loan for 60 months (I plan on paying mine off in 24 months). And the true cost would also come into play at resale, because the Limited model with the same miles and wear and tear will be worth more at resale and may also sell faster. In other words if a Limited fetched $800 more than a Premium when I sell my car in 5 years, I really just paid $400 more to drive it over 5 years plus interest. |

For me it was just simply a matter of making sure I got cloth seats. Not getting the Limited just happened to be a $1200 windfall savings for me. (plus the MSRP discount on the vehicle)
Either way, a car is a depreciating asset and its value will invariably be much much less in just one year let alone five years. Quote:
