Wait, is anyone except me reading this and wondering why the OP bothered with springs at all rather than just inserting blocks of wood instead. The idea of the suspension is to keep the tyres in contact road, not bouncing up and down.

Or have I just missed the point?, stiffer to the point where your suspension isn't doing anything but reacting to its own poor set up seems counterintuitive for a car designed for great handling.

Well if his goals are to slam the car (since he got by exteme low) I wouldn't see a problem with those spring rates.

Only problem I have is that everyone seems to think we all should have the same goal. Some people use it as a grocery getter, others a daily beater, and for some, a track beast or weekend warrior

Not everyone has the same goals for the car. I'm sure @SLICVIC has his own goals and those goals aren't making it "functional". Should I care? Nope, him doing what he wants doesnt affect me. Every time someone does something slightly out of what's expected for this car, everyone loses their minds.

I don't have a problem with people doing what that they want with their cars, dropping it on its bump stops then complaining when it bounces because it's oversprung and under damped for daily driving seems odd though.

Its not on bump stops, I guess i overreacted, it was bouncy due to the dampaning adjustment. when at full stiff the car feels way to stiff/bouncy to have any sort of handling characteristics(i guess thats why they call'em low and slow). But at full soft or even a couple of clicks on the dampening the car handles well and doesnt bounce. ride quality feels similar to stock. Its a night and day difference. When I did my initial dampaning adjustments I never went full soft as I assumed that there would be too much suspension traval over bumps and thought that the car would bounce more. I was wrong next time I will make sure i exhaust every option prior to posting. I appreciate everyones input!

as far as the spring rates go w/ light vehicles, my previous car was an s2000 which if IIRC is lighter than the FRS and I had 10k F/R spring rates on the coilovers i had. The dampaning was set to full hard and the car handled great, ride quality was good and had no issues. I know they are 2 totally different cars w/ to totally different suspension setups but I used it as a basis for my decision for this car. yes i do love the stance look but i also love to have the ability to take a corner hard when needed. this was def a learning experience.

just chill man, these coilovers were designed to allow full suspension travel no matter which height the car is adjusted to. So even at its lowest its far from bump stops. Also 10k on our cars isnt that horrible, ive heard of some cars ranging from 20k to 30k in the name of fitment. Most ive heard of was 60k. The OPs issue was im sure he never installed 10k springs in a car this light so he wasnt sure if the harsh ride was actually supposed to be That harsh or if he did something wrong, just wanted some clarity i assume.

Bounciness is NOT normal. It's from lack of damping. It's only normal when everyone has subpar dampers.

The damper's job is to absorb oscillation of the springs caused by uneven pavement, and make it so the car hugs the road.

If you have the dampers set to full hard, or closed, then the ride will be really, really stiff.

Glad you figured out the issue, enjoy them!
