Reading your posts makes me sick thinking about having that happen to your car. Here's hoping it's just a radiator leak, and easily fixed. Keeps us all posted on what happens next.

OK, something smacked the rad and busted it. I don't remember hitting anything but w/e. I think I'm going to get a Koyo rad since its cheaper than a stock one.

Now that I think about it, maybe I could have hit something earlier, and it just took some time for the crack to form and blow?

Is your front grille gone? How about the bottom skid plate and bottom of bumper? How can something smack it with those in place?

Did it get hit from the front or the back (no pun intended)? You might also want to check your A/C condenser and surrounding components just in case it punctured past the radiator or an errant part came off and went flying.

I haven't see the crack yet, but he said it was drivers side somewhere on the rad. I don't know how anything would have hit it. there is no visual que from outside , and the under panels are all intact. A/C was working fine yesterday aswell, Ill get pics asap.

As embarrassing as it is for me I think we have come to the conclusion that this was caused by a foreign object inside the engine bay....I think I left a hose clamp that fell under the IM the other day. I was a professional bicycle mechanic for several years, so I like to think I know my way around tools, and how to work on things, so this is really embarrassing for me. But I'm willing to admit it to everyone if some one learns from this. Don't leave shit in the engine bay...I'm sorry everyone, and thanks for the support.

I doubt a little hose clamp would have the weight to puncture the rad?

we think it got kicked around by the drivers side rad fan. The fan shows damage from coming in contact with something where the crack is on the rad.

Kudos for admitting making a mistake and not leading us to believe it was a mod or vehicle malfunction. I was concerned that the catch can was the problem since i am looking to install one myself. Also i've found on google that koyo rads and the company itself aren't so great. Might want to look into it before pulling the trigger. :happy0180:

Really? Where did you see that? I have only heard good things on this forum. Got one for $270 from Evasive.

Yeah, I'd say everything has worked out. hopefully we put the rad on and don't find anything else wrong.

Just from the peoples comments i saw on this video [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTok7pPcUUI"]Koyo Review: Don't buy a Koyo Radiator, they do not stand by their product, FAILURE! - YouTube[/ame] if you go to the actual page there are others talking about the problems they had as well. Probably not the most reliable, but enough for make to think twice. Mainly because im anal about spending money lol. If people are giving it good reviews on this forum then that is probably a better source than youtube

Radiator should be in today. The shittiest part was I was on my home after getting a new set of rims....Any way, stopped by the shop today and tried to see the damage to the rad, but all I could see was the notch on the fan blades, and then some damage to the cooling fins.
