Then they are not the same. Putting the vband that close to the collector squeezes the piping as the exhaust gas exits the collector.

That's why I put some '' '' over same. I meant the way it looks, is the same. I know the collector is not located the same way but if you put them both in one piece, they are the same...

Thanks for feedback guys. Looks like I need to be a little more patient and wait for Nameless or fa20club. Also sounds like I might as well save up and do a full exhaust with tune at the same time.

The HKS with a tune looks pretty good to me. It still has a dip relative its peak torque, but is less than 5ftlb lower than the Borla UEL (also with a tune) for ~400 rpm. Everywhere else it's higher, and up top it's much higher.

I haven't seen a comparison of power but the fabrication quality I have seen in pics of the borla unit has erased the good feelings I had from the sound.

With all the issues I've seen, warranty or not, I don't trust it. No one should have to replace a header multiple times. If I had to replace my header from cracking after every year, I wouldn't be too happy. Granted a header install on this car is 10 times easier than most cars, I still think a quality product goes a long way.

Agreed. If I pay several hundred bucks for a part, and install it, you can bet I will be pretty grumpy if I have to set aside more time putting the car on jack stands for the same problem again.

Even if it is free to replace the part, I have better things to do than redo things I already did!

on turbo subarus its been long established that el is better power, uel is the burble.

I think you'll only really see the difference on very high horsepower amounts. Yes, there is a slight difference, but realistically on the road, you will not feel it below 350 whp imo. Most people would prefer the sound and sacrifice the small hp loss without looking back. Your true enthusiast though that wants every ounce of horsepower will go EL though. You'll see bigger gaps with the stage 2 turbo kits between UEL and EL.

EL sound is way better, main reason why. Don't want the rumble, prefer smooth sound instead.

This is how a lot of people make their decision which is why it is awesome we have both options.
