I'd imagine this engine wants a mix of both.

Shift light is set at 6900 and that's where I shift until I reach a few MPH over the speed limit. Then I just row through the rest if I need to cruise. On back roads, I keep them up as much as possible by staying in a lower gear. You're not going to wear your car out, that's what it was designed to do. If you're not driving it this way you might as well have bought a Corolla.

I'm usually shifting at 3k for normal driving, getting on the highway or overtaking people ill push it up to 4k. Still in the break in period so I haven't gone past 4k... Much.

I started off using 5th gear at around 45 mph, but lately I've only been using it at highway speeds, and keeping to 4th or lower around town. I guess I'm getting addicted to the growl, and I'm still just running the stock exhaust.
This car likes the revs. BTW, I've posted elsewhere, but my Unichip really seems to have leveled out the torque dip. I'm tempted to remove it temporarily just to double check and see if it makes as much difference as I seem to remember. Sent from my RM-820_nam_att_100 using Tapatalk

If im being conservative I shift around 2.5k but normally around 3-3.5. I usually cruise around town in 5th at like 35-37mph. I also skip from 3rd to 5th gear alot around town.
Anyone ever mess with the shift/gear indicator? Damn thing wants you in 6th by like 30mph lol |
