Tire chirp, four wheel slides
People. The ones who upgraded their tires already.
Are you still getting rubber chirp shifting into second gear? Secondly, Does your grip set-up cause induced forces high enough to bend any suspension parts? Ether from negative acceleration or centripetal. If so, what bent and must be upgraded? Neck problems anyone?

Yes still chirps into 2nd but not nearly as much.
As for suspension/neck issues... No matter what tires, its still only 150hp.. No issues there |

Yes. No way. Not even R-Comps will do this. See Above. Not unless your neck is made from spaghetti. |

You're such a d1ck...
![]() Toyobaru expected much more than just wheel modifications when they designed the triplets. This won't do a thing. I think it would have a higher chance of damaging the diff (which is unlikely) than it has of damaging the suspension components or your neck.

![]() Slicks it is then. This may be the only upgrade I ever do to the car. For the track of course ![]() People wasting money on upgraded control arms. Surly cannot be only for their adjustability. Hope its not for the half an ounce weight savings.

I find it much harder to chirp 2nd gear with my Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Can still do it in VSC Sport, but really have to try.

Maybe its a clutch thing. Some seem to offer spring dampening while others are just solid. I wonder if those springs could help the initial engagement enough to keep traction in second gear.
Going down a mountain for some would be all about hard braking and pulling your cheeks from the door glass.

With R-Comps, you might notice that the huge amounts of grip you get (over the stock tires) will expose other elements that then need attention. Huge grip can cause brakes to overheat, since they might no longer have the ability to induce ABS, you always want your brakes to be stronger than your traction). You may find excessive body roll and tire wear from excessive suspension slop (soft bushings mentioned earlier will allow the wheel to "squish" out of alignment under high lateral load). If you're going with much grippier tires, I would recommend you at least upgrade your brake pads to something capable of handling the track, and flush with high temp fluid at minimum. |

If you're getting R-comps, make sure to get high quality wheels (in addition to upgraded brakes). There's a video of a Porsche on R-comps breaking the spokes off his aftermarket wheels on a fast sweeper at the track. Scary to watch.
And yes still get the 1-2 chirp on Sumi HTR ZIII.
