I don't think it would make sense from a production standpoint to assemble the car outside of the Gumma plant. Especially taking the time to train the production line. Seems like they just installed LEDs at the Aichi plant

From what I've been able to gather from the interweb, the he Scion iQ, xD, and xB (not sure since 2006-present might of moved elsewhere) were all built in Aichi.

Maybe it was just the final location for badge install & electroluminescent dash considering the unique 10 series dash color/fiber are on all of the 10 series models.

Does your dash panel light up with the blue Scion logo when you open the doors? If not, my only other guess would be that the switch for that (under the steering wheel) is flipped off, and maybe the badges are disabled by that switch as well (since they all operate together).

That switch was disable previously and I believe you were the one who gave me the instruction to turn it on. So, it is on and the light on the panel is on.

I found the problem and it concurs with the other posts that 2 remotes have interfered signal with other. The emblem did not light up when it is in my garage because 1 key is in my pocket and 1 key is in my house. It light up earlier when I went to Starbucks.

I just came to a breakthrough in how to get the DRL LEDs to stay on with the HID headlights. I just need access to the Toyota EPC to get find the pigtails for the JDM lights. I will make a small harness that is reversible if the car needs to go into servicing.

I will do mock this up once I get my car (before august) and test it out depending on how much the oem connectors cost.

I was just thinking of getting the low voltage lead that powers the turn signal lights when the lights are powered on... it should be the missing 7th cable that goes to the headlight harness

spot on.

1. just have to check that we dont exceed the current levels of the signal light fuse
2. isolate the circuit so we dont have voltage feedback going back into the DRL system when the HIDs are on. (may not be an issue but better safe than sorry)
3. make it fully reversible when going in for servicing

My solution is to get both the JDM male and female connectors and make necessary electrical modifications between the two for the headlight. The USDM plugs are different.

and low voltage shouldnt be needed. the LEDs operate with a full 12v

I like where this seems to be going. Keep us updated I remember seeing a post where Moto-P described USDM would be missing a 7th connection compared to JDM but he hadn't figured out why yet.

PLEASE make a step by step guide when you het this figured out! I was kind of disappointed when I discovered that the DRLs really were daytime only.

Nice! Glad you were able to figure it out w/o having to take it in.

I never looked at the manual in the glove. I just signed up for scion owners site and downloaded from the website. attached for reference.

There seems to be a portion missing from this. It ends at page 393. There is a headlight customization page 401 it says on pages 191/192 DRL Section. I wonder what settings can be customized. Anyone with the real manual have page 401?

the online manual doesn't come as one pdf but rather 31 small ones. I merge them all together. maybe I missed one.

go to scion.com and sign up for owners lounge. It's free.
