Good: less 86 on the road, more competition;

Bad: I want that damn WR Blue but it's not on the 86 and I prefer the 86 sussy tune and front end look..

Official Australia Subaru website has been updated in the news section. Completely official now:

http://subaru.com.au/news

subaru.com.au/news/brz-brings-seasonal-cheer-sports-car-fans

Guessing that pricing and options would be available sometime in 2012. So have to wait a little while yet to get some more information.

Great thing about this situation Toyota cant get away with charging extreme prices on the 86. So the introduction of the BRZ will give the consumer the power.

Still hoping for a early 30s k price. Really dont want this car to be 40k plus on road costs.

Have also looked at the Subaru Australia website homepage. BRZ is completely absent. Subaru Australia better not treat this new car in their range as an unwanted family member just because it doesnt have AWD. This car is awesome on all levels, and needs to be appreciate much more for what it is, not what it does not have.

I doubt they would bother to bring it in if they don't want it.

Just give wait for a few months.

Hey apparently in The Sydney Morning Herald the other day they say that Subaru will release the BRZ before the 86... Anyone read that article or the paper at all? This is second hand information that was passed on to me... Can anyone de-bunk this?

I read the smh (Sydney Morning Herald) newspaper article also. It is online also. Here is a link of it:
http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/c...219-1p1bo.html

Last line suggests a possible earlier release date to that of the 86.

Excellent! I'll be able to test-drive the BRZ for a sneak peak before I take delivery of my 86 in the first batch ashore. I was concerned about buying a car I've never driven, but an early BRZ launch will solve that.

Im going to give the both brands a good test drive before comes to purchase time. Going to put brand loyalty aside and compare and contrast how each one goes. But if the BRZ or vice versa is cheaper to purchase/insure/service i will opt for that brand. Im guessing the Toyota would offer the cheaper varient of the two twins, but might be wrong there. Maybe Subaru would pull a suprise on us all and offer the BRZ cheaper than the 86...

Looking forward to see what 2012 brings.
