Same probably goes for spare parts too, especially as most stuff won't be commonly stocked for other Toyotas, i.e. Oil Filters, Air Filters, Clutches, Coolant? Brake pads/rotors ?

With the possible exception of the air filter, all those will be standard Subaru items.

Not that you'd buy any of that stuff from Subaru anyway. The aftermarket is much better.

From the pics from the VLN race car you can clearly see that the oil filter says Subaru on it lol!

So would be buying from the Subaru.

Nick Senior will be giving a yes/no answer before christmas, by what has been published in Australian car articles. Really hope that the BRZ will make it to these shores.

I hope so too, the more photos I see of the BRZ the more I like it. The front end looks simpler and the Subaru logo seems to suit the car well.

+100

Well there is 1 way too stop them, don't buy it, tempting as it is, if they don't sell they make em cheaper.

This will also partially be the reason we wont see it under $30,000 like the USA might. Nearest competitor is $42,000 "for arguments sake" so they will sell it for $39,990 not its true value of $32,990, all figure just randoms of course.

Bit of a conundrum i face, wait 1 year i might save 1-2000 on purchase price but then 1yr later my trade in will be worth 1-2000 less

And regarding parts etc in Newcastle (im sure they would be others around) we have whats called Brad st Parts.

Can get 99% of factory Toyota (and others) parts without the dealer markup, sure its still a $$ genuine item, but you will save cash.

http://www.bradstreetparts.com.au/

I have no affiliation/association with them, used them before and recommend them highly.
