HELP:Switchback led bulbs

I just installed my switch back led bulbs and hyper flash relay. The problem I'm running into is they don't light up when I turn on my head lights. They blink fine but stay off until I use my blinker. Aren't they supposed to light up with the head lights on?

Hmmm... I dunno if this will solve it seeing as they light up as blinkers, but try taking the LED out and flipping it. Sometimes if the LED won't light up it is because the bulb is upside down.

Most likely this is your solution.

I did that this morning. When I switch the bulb around, it doesn't light up at all. When I put it back to the way I had it, it flashes when I use the blinkers, hazards or when I lock or unlock my car. They don't light up when I put on my headlamps, which I believe they should. I'm going to put everything back to stock and see if it's the bulb or something else. Also Pm'd HID Powerhouse to see if they have a solution.

Sounds like you have defective bulbs. Can you get a refund or replacement?

Same thing happened to me. I'm thinking that the wiring might be different with the Philippine spec than the usdm spec cars. I ordered from HID powerhouse also and when I installed the bulb it just blinks but does not light up when I turn my headlamps on.

Im trying to find the fuse for the turn signals but I don't think it's blown... if it was, the turn signals wouldn't work at all.

The easiest way to test the wiring/etc is to put the stock bulbs back in and make sure they light up with the parking or head lights on. If they do and the LED bulbs don't you know it's the LED bulbs. If they don't then it's the car.

Are resistors installed with the lights? That MAY fix the issue, but I haven't seen a problem like that on a FR-S before. On a Kia Optima/Sonata, it's required to have load resistors or else switchbacks will not work correctly.

It just sounds like a defective bulb it seems if the white does not turn on, on the FR-S's we've tested on, it should work regardless, it'll just hyper-flash

I installed my switch backs all i had to do install my relay and bulb and it worked. Make sure when u plug the bulb in make sure before sealing everything back in go turn the switch on in ur car to see if turns on if not then adjust the bulb opposite way to find out which way turns on

Not to be rude to the op, But I was just wondering where I can get the best switchback led and relay for my FR-s. I've been looking around the forum and it seems most switchback bulbs and relay are the same except for how bright you want the bulb to be. What concerns me is the solution to fix the hypher blink using the relay, it has some sort of lag time when the light switches from white to amber or vice versa. I've seen videos on this forum and others where it shows this lag. Now, these videos were posted a couple months old even a year, Im not sure if most vendors have fixed this but is the lag due to the bulb or relay being used or both?

It was the bulbs after checking all fuses and reverting back to stock. Major props to HID powerhouse for replacing the bulbs and trying to help diagnose the problem.
