Has what been proven? I've reflashed mine and a few other cars a few times. Never suffered from a dead pedal and from the logs the only changes are changes in trims, which is what you'd expect. All other sensor readings show similar reading to when it's done more miles. Most of the calibration for idle readings can be done in seconds, but that's why you need a warmed car 1st so that there is no cat warm up proceedure.

So, you means the dead pedal issue comes back again afterinstalling the TRD intake?

Thanks.

more likely a result of the ECU reset after installing the intake.

The dead pedal isn't also a quirk of a reflash/reset there is a way to stop it from happening I posted how here.
Interesting, thanks.

I'm methodical (well, slow) and this will make me hurry when installing the TRD CAI before the engine cools.

Would you suggest a reset after installing a new less restrictive exhaust, too?

Sorry, I should of been more clear. I was referring to your link. Has pressing the pedal 5 times in accessory mode proven to work? I'll have to try it out if I ever experience dead pedal.

Or you could install the intake, then warm the car up by letting it idle until the rpms drop, which should only take a minute, and then reset the ECU. Much easier than rushing the install.

Resetting could be advised as its a quick way to clear trim adjustments, although the ECU is always adapting so a reset isn't necessary.

A tuner told my mate about it when they flashed his car. We then tried it on his AT and I've since done it on my MT a few times. Let's put it this way, I only know of the dead pedal as its spoken of on here, I've never experienced it. My guess is that you have to calibrate the pedal's full range. I've done a log on a car that didn't do this and the pedal position never showed 100% until it had been pushed to the floor a couple of times, which would explain a bogging feel.

Does anyone have the TRD intake and an oil cooler such as the Perrin? Any fitment issues with both installed?

I don't have an oil cooler yet, but it will not fit as far as I can tell. Look at my pic of how close the oil filter is to the intake box. Not much room. I'm thinking on using banjo fittings instead of the elbows that Perrin has.

I know the Cusco oil cooler will fit with it. Isn't wallet-friendly though.

Just got the TRD CAI / Exhaust combo installed.

Car sounds noticeably better, albeit a little louder. However the cabin volume with the windows up seems to be about the same. Definitely hearing the boxer engine now.

I definitely don't have that issue, my pedal is just about telepathic. If the car didn't respond I would swear I hadn't actually moved my foot at all.

I personally don't like oiled filters, and if it is the "same" filter, I would throw in an OEM one.
Did you ever find out the answer to this? I'm also interested in using a non oiled type
