Take the original sensors. Bust down the spare, Tape them inside the spare tire. Reseat the tire and inflate, then put the spare back in the trunk. This should trick it.

Or do this
http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-s...pipe-bomb.html

Never tried it but people tell me it works.

That probably won't work with the BRZ/FRS. The sensors are triggered to transmit by the rotation of the wheel. But if someone tries it and it does work post it on here.

So tcs/vsc can still be defeated 100%? I can ignore the light

I left sensors in my stock wheels when I installed my Rotas onto my FR-S and my TMPS light eventually came on. Traction control is not affected. Light flashes for a short time and then stays on solid. I'm going to attempt to remove the bulb in the cluster tomorrow and if I can do it I will post instructions.

Hey ! I've run no TPMS last night and this morning?

NO TIRE LIGHT

It came up after like 20km last night and was on all the the time I'll run it. But this morning no light at all. Maybe it got the be sure with a long "OFF" key cycle that it really don't have TPMS sensors to not cause conflic with bads sensors.

So yeah, the manual is right! I'll keep you updated!

3. The ECU does not appear to be programmable with the ATEQ quickset tool (latest firmware QD1-44)

I have a ATEQ VT-55 which lets me read the sensors, but not the OBDII attachement that lets you program ECU so I can't say if it would work or not but I doubt it.

I'll be playing around with this a little more later today. I haven't tried every possible Toyota/Scion/Subaru Make/model combination for the Quickset yet. I'm also going to contact ATEQ and ask them about firmware updates to support the BRZ/FR-S.

Edit:

Here are the sensor readings from I was able to get with the VT-55

---- LEFT FRONT ----
Sensor ID : ID: 1295AE
Pressure : 35.4 PSI
Temperature : 60 F
Sensor state: WAKE
---- RIGHT FRONT ----
Sensor ID : ID: 12952D
Pressure : 35.4 PSI
Temperature : 62 F
Sensor state: WAKE
---- RIGHT REAR ----
Sensor ID : ID: 12952C
Pressure : 34.4 PSI
Temperature : 57 F
Sensor state: WAKE
---- LEFT REAR ----
Sensor ID : ID: 129524
Pressure : 33.9 PSI
Temperature : 60 F
Sensor state: WAKE
FWIW I had a meeting yesterday with the rep from ATEQ (I work in the aftermarket) and he was well aware of the FRS/BRZ and said they'll have an update shortly. He also is building a 2011 WRX with his son so he is a big fan of the twins.

It's the tire temp. To bad the ECU won't display it for us.

What app are you using? As far as I know OBDII does not output any TPMS data.

There was an article on Jalopnik a few months ago that detailed a way to get rid of the TPMS light. I can't find the thread, but the gist is this:

Fabricate a PVC tube with the TPMS sensor on it and a valve stem. Inflate to required pressure. Throw these in the trunk with the spare. Change tires all you want. TPMS reads the proper pressure.
