Vent-to-Atmosphere... Engine dying?

Had a serious oil-in-intake problem:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98687

Replaced Crawford AOS with RevWorks vent-to-atmosphere catch can and it shows the following at idle:

Is that real or my engine is dying? Piston rings? What else could it be?

P.S. How to embed a video on this forum?

I thought vent to atmosphere was really only for turbo applications, NA should be closed.

Sure. I've got HKS SC at 0.75 bar peak boost.

Guess it would help it I read the thread...my bad. Since your HKS boosts before the TB, it should be fine to have a vent to atmosphere model. It doesn't sound like it's idling rough, maybe it's doing that because the catch can is new?

Did you block off the inlet where the PCV normally vents into the intake manifold?

Of course. Blocked with a plug and clamped. Otherwise I would leak boost.

Seems unlikely it's from the catch can. I suspect an unfortunate coincidence instead

I think you have other problems. I doubt believe the catch can is causing your issue

Do a compression and then leak down test.

Is that cold idle or warm?

It matters.

Is your exhaust smoking as well?

This also matters.

Sure, I didn't mean that the catch can is causing the problem. It just demonstrates it quite clearly.

Always. Not only at idle of course. After "spirited driving" it may look like there is fire under the hood. Not sure about exhaust but it doesn't smell burnt oil.

Does your oil look like milk, and smell like the women's bathroom of a popular bar after a Friday night?
