Rear Speaker Wire Question

Hi everyone. While searching the section, I came across a post that said it's okay to repurpose the rear speaker wires off of the factory harness. I was thinking of getting one of the Bazooka bass tubes (either the 850FH or 8100FHC). I don't really care for the rear speakers, so I was wondering if I can disconnect those, and tap the Bazooka FAST harness to it?

This way, I can somewhat control the volume of the sub by fading the volume to the rear. I just want to add a little more low end to the system, and I use my trunk often, so I need something that I can connect and disconnect easily and quickly. Would this be advisable to do? Thanks, guys.



EDIT: if you're planning on tapping off the rear speakers, don't bother. Since they're high-passed, the Bazooka tube will not have much output since the wires aren't full range. Must use the front speaker wires.

You can keep your rear speakers.
In the trunk, under the factory floor thing (where the spare tire is,) there is an amp. You can tap into the on/off signal wire from that (easy search) as well tap off the signal to the speakers and throw on a low pass filter. Or just run a set of rca's from the factory unit.
It is super easy to run a power wire from the battery to the trunk. Many diy's. (easy search)
I garentee you can do these things yourself. Couple hours maybe, vs hundredsss in shop fees.

I don't really care for the rear speakers, which is why I don't have a problem cutting those wires off and using them for the feed. The 2014 HU does not have RCA outputs, which sucks.

I don't have a problem installing things. I've done the system I had on my Yaris (HU, speakers, amp, sub):



I've installed wiring and speakers on an FX16 from scratch as well.

It's more along the lines of keeping things simple with this. Taking out and putting in a box like that is just a PITA. I didn't mind having it in the Yaris (even ended up getting a slightly larger, ported box) since it had a good amount of trunk space. I'm not looking for the same amount of bass I had in my Yaris, just to fill the low's a little, and being able to take it out easily and quickly.
