Under mirror radar detector mounts?

I have been looking at this one (it's 5 dollars cheaper on actual website FYI): *edit new link
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/PerformancePackage-Mirror-Mount-Detector-Bracket/dp/B0063N7OZ2/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1448372428&sr=8-5&keywords=escort+9500ix"]Amazon.com : PerformancePackage Mirror Mount Radar Detector Bracket - Escort 9500ix, 8500x50, Solo S3, Redline : Car Electronics[/ame]

Does anyone have any experience with these? Will they fit the gt86 frameless mirror? Do they look bulky or will it block a lot of the windshield hanging under there?

Thanks!

the link doesn't work for me, but if it's like the BlendMount then it will clamp onto the stalk of your mirror. I have the Blend Mount and it doesn't really get in my way unless I'm looking straight at it. I also don't have a frameless mirror, but I doubt it will look that different.

Very similar to blendmount, probably what one would consider a knock off of blendmount because it is half the price. Fixed the link: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/PerformancePackage-Mirror-Mount-Detector-Bracket/dp/B0063N7OZ2/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1448372428&sr=8-5&keywords=escort+9500ix"]Amazon.com : PerformancePackage Mirror Mount Radar Detector Bracket - Escort 9500ix, 8500x50, Solo S3, Redline : Car Electronics[/ame]

Glad to hear you have a relatively good experience with it.

I bought the performance package veresion (35 dollars shipped), will give my impressions once I get it. IMO blendmount is way too much for a mount.

I have this one...

I didn't want to cough up the $$ for Blendmount... so went with that one and it's OK. I had to spray paint (with matte black) some of the parts over time as exposure to sunlight kind of "bleached out" whatever "black coating" was applied.

The mounting is a bit time consuming b/c they use a number of small hex bolts to attach it to mirror stem and the bracket. But after a little "give and take" with adjustments, got it where I wanted it.

I use it with a cordless Escort Passport detector (no wires). When ordering the bracket, you indicate your detector and they include an appropriate attachment "clip."

No issues with the setup blocking view out of windshield.

I'd imagine if it were hanging below the mirror it would be in the way. The mount that came with my Valentine is pretty good. Sits nice above the mirror.

Can't say for that one, but honestly its better to save up and Get something like the Escort. I had a cheap one, and it would go off on everything lol, I think its the Cobra brand.

I designed my own. Not a great picture, but it works great. Gives the antenna's a good view out the front and rear windscreens.
