Keep dash cam recording when car is of... how?

Hola ft86er's!

Any ideas on what my options would be to keep dashcam recording after car is off?

My old Celica would have a/c inputs hot all the time! I'd leave phone in there charging and return 5-6hrs later to a full battery. Car accessory position was in off whole time.

My FR-S doesn't do this unfortunately...well fortunately too! Never know if it could set a fire or sparks!

I'd just be interested in keeping it on for about 5hrs.

normally, you don't want your accessories to have power when the car is off since it could lead to a dead battery.

another way is to get an external power supply and have it hooked up to your accessory port so it charges when the car is on. then your dashcam will use that power when the car is off.

^^^^^^This.

It is very easy to install, just gotta buy two add-a-fuse/circuit taps and stick it in the fuse box under your steering column.

Follow this guide - you can stick the power magic pro switch box anywhere, doesn't have to be where the guide says.
