Sebring with NASA this past weekend (Video)
Bought a BRZ about 2 months ago as a track car after doing quite a bit of research and talking to others that have been running their cars a lot. I have been running and racing Honda's for years (and still do) but it was time for something new, reliable and with a warranty as a track day car. Scott (smbstyle) in particular has been very helpful with feedback and seeing what others have been able to do made it easy to get the laundry list of parts for the car that will make it work well.
I immediately did the basics to set it up for fun /reliable track use and plan on leaving it like this for a while and just work on myself as a driver and enjoying the car. 2015 BRZ Racecomp Engineering Tarmac II Coilovers AP Racing Front Brakes (Ferrodo DS1.11 Pads) Ferrodo DS2500 rear pads Steel Braided Lines 17x8 Enkei RPF1 with Bridgestone RE71r 225/45/17 Tires Perrin Oil Cooler Motul 5w30 Oil Motul 300 Diff and Tranny Fluid Motul RBF600 Brake Fluid Berk Muffler Delete This past weekend was my 2nd time out and I am considerably more comfortable in the car than the first weekend out and picked up a lot of time...it is kind of amazing how well you can throw this car into any corner at any speed with any line and make it work, it is very forgiving and allows you to try different idea's and lines. Here is my quickest lap of the weekend during the 1st Sunday morning session, a 2:39.6 [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4eLXRpn2HQ"]Subaru BRZ at Sebring with NASA, October 2015 - 2:39.6 Lap Time - YouTube[/ame] |

Such a fun looking track. How do you like the tires? I have a set of the same tires/same spec on the way (will be using on stock wheels). I expect them to perform much better than 595RSR.

I recently switched to v2 RS3's... I can't tell you how much I miss my 595RSR's the cold grip was incredible. I hear they are releasing the 595RSRR soon, but unfortunately they won't be making it in 200TW which kills me for autox. |

@connorlug All (3) tires that you mentioned were on my mind. I have experience with the 595RSR. I do not have any class constraints as I'm only doing HPDEs, so I'm open to trying out different tires regardless of treadwear. Although I wanted to go with 595RSRs because of the price, the RS3 v2 is very reasonably priced and should be better than the Federal. Then there are the RE71Rs. I decided to bite the bullet and go with Bridgestone because again, I gather it is the faster tire (pricier though). I trust I made the right decision but my wallet is a little lighter. Hope it's worth it.

The RE71r's are impressive...I have 360 track miles on them so far over 2 weekends and they are wearing very well.
I have Direzza Star Spec II's on another car that I was running earlier this year and I thought those are great until I started running on the RE71r's and now I understand why all the tire tests have them being a bit quicker. Very impressive tire. My plan was to run the RE71r's until they are dead and then switch to NT01's but I am not sure that is even necessary. |

@IPGJames Wow, that is great to hear. Although I am being told to simply trust the RE71R, I don't mind reading positive feedback over and over again. Thanks for the input. You look to have loads of grip in your video.

Well thought-out mods for a fun, dependable track car! On the suspension and brake side, it's almost exactly how I'm planning to set my own car up. Encouraging that it seems to be working out well for you. Keep us posted on the evolution of your car!
