Springs for a modest 1-1.5 inch drop?

I am in the marker for a 1-1.5 drop set up without braking the bank. I also want to keep a soft set up. Maybe even softer than stock if possible. Would springs do the job? Or would it be best that I buy coilovers.
Need them comfortable enough for street use but also for a couple of track days a year.

Any recommendation and info would be appreciated. Thanks

-1.0" is modest for springs. Eibach Pro-Kit or TRD Springs will get you there, but might be stiffer than what you're looking for. Remember, when you drop on springs alone the rate generally has to be stiffer (not softer) than stock.

-1.5", you'll need coilovers for a comfortable ride that you can also track every now and then. ST Coilovers are the way to go. You could also go with Tein Flex Z, which might handle better on the track, but will be sprung more stiff.

I wouldn't go for a big drop (-1.4" or more) with springs (like Eibach Sportlines) as both the handling and ride will be compromised.

I'd like to add Swift Springs to the -1.0" choices!

Tein S Techs 110% of the way. I loved them and how especially how they rode.

Our RCE Yellow springs lower 20mm front and rear and include replacement bumpstops. Definitely mild.

1.5 inches is a lot for a spring and you make compromises going that low.

True... Springs are a inexpensive alternative to coils.

If you want to spend some more money get some Tein Street Basis. More adjustablilty than springs.

True that a lot of springs meet the thread title, but almost none meet the OP's acutual post requirements. "Softer than stock" and -1.0 - 1.5" drop. That's where he's probably going to have to make a compromise or spend more for coilovers.

Examples mentioned in the thread

Stiffer than stock and less than 1.0" drop
RCE Yellows (.8" drop)

Stiffer than stock with 1.0" drop
Eibach Pro Kit
TRD Springs
Swift Springs 86 kit
Hotchkiss Springs 86 kit
Tein H-Tech

Stiffer than stock with 1.4" drop
Eibach Sportlines
Tein S-Tech

Softer than stock and less than 1.0" drop
RS-R Down Sus (.5" drop)

Softer than stock (front only) with -1.2" drop but no replacement bump stops
RS-R Superdown Sus

The answer really is to save for coils.

Where can I buy Trd springs. I see some on ebay, but don't know if legit
