Quick: Need torque spec for suspension component
Help! Putting together my car and I need the torque spec for this piece:
I think it's the trailing arm? Bottom of the picture, points to the bottom right. Starts in front of the wheel and connects to the bottom of the hub. |

I'll tack onto this thread as I need an ASAP type of answer.
Installing RCE yellows today. First install like this for me. Jacked up car, removed front struts. No spring compressors. Hand tools. Took the strut into my lawn and stood on it and loosened top bolt. Quite difficult by myself, I should say. Installed RCE yellow onto strut. End of coil up against notch at bottom of strut, more tightly wound end down. I compressed spring with my knee atop Top mount and hand threaded bolt on, and then began going at it. Problem now is that it will not torque down. Something is spinning. If any saviors out there need more info, let me know. My thought is, if I leave it as is and put the car on the floor, will it maybe compress the spring a bit more and thus allow an extra crank or two where it might then torque down? Very amateur at this stuff. Thanks! |
