My DGM baby is home

YES, this is another "I got my BRZ" thread, but now that the BRZ is in my hands I feel the same emotions and excitement that every one else has been going through.

A quick history about the car;
I test drove two FR-S in Houston and I loved it, but I felt the interior could be better so I decided to look into the BRZ. In Texas, all the Subaru dealers mentioned their incoming BRZ's have all been sold and will not have any available until next year unless someone backed out, which is hardly ever the case. So I began calling neighboring states, and there was one in Lafayette, LA. I wanted to get the GBS color, and the sales man mentioned the one available was DGM. I thought about it for a bit, and I went online to look at various DGM BRZ's and I fell in love with the car even more. I called the salesman and put the deposit, this was before the car arrived at the states. So then I went through the waiting game as everyone else. The car arrived last week, and I left it there to be shown off in their showroom.

Honestly the paddle shifters are hard to get used to. I been driving standard my whole life, but the automatic transmission in this car is really nice and it goes when you ask it. I haven't played around too much with the paddle shifters just yet, but the little that I have has felt different. Specially because there is no clutch, lol. I think after a while I will get used to it, and I will enjoy it, specially because I can hold the gears longer if I need to. I like this car a lot and I am completely happy that I bought it.

If I was you, I would test drive the FR-S again, and try to use the paddle shifters this time around. Ask the sales man if you can take it on the highway and around the streets, around some bends and what not.. This way you can get a better idea and make the final decision soon.

Push button start comes with the Limited trim, regardless of transmission.

I called West Houston at the end of March asking about the BRZ, and they mentioned they were all pre-sold and that they would notify right away if someone ever back out. After getting off the phone I contacted other dealers in the area and mentioned the same thing. I then called the dealer in Louisiana and was told that they had one coming in that no one had bought yet.

Well I know for a fact that West Houston had a few BRZ's that had people back out, BUT they never called back to notify me. I gave them my contact information and told them to call me back as soon as one was available. With my bad luck I would always find out after a BRZ had been bought by a different customer. Anyways, I stopped calling local dealers because I knew for a fact I would have one waiting for me in LA, and I made a fun road trip out of it with my girlfriend.. "FUN", if you know what I mean.
