Apexi Intake D Plus

Hey guys,

What do you think about this part which replace the resonator and increase the amount of fresh air to the OEM airbox ?

Part 518-T001
12000 JPY

Very expensive like JDM parts...

I'm surprised no one else thought of this before. For that price tho, it should of been made of something nicer. CF for the bling or plastic to look stock

I think if you're going to remove the bumper to make a hole for it, the exact same thing could be achieved by Shiv's snorkel mod.

Interesting. There is an old thread with back to back dynos and logs of before and after resonator removed. The long short of it is that removing the resonator makes the AFM signal very noisy and thus a loss of power.

Also there are even older threads with people using Bigbox store vacuum hose exactly like this.

I think if I was going to take off the bumper I'd slap on the Greddy snorkel.

Why pay that much for it?
I did that with a flexible 32mm heat resistant plastic hose and a clamp.
There are ducts on both sides of the engine bay which lead to cold air down at the corners of the front grille.
A bit of ram air may also be possible.
I also tried to put some cold air onto the copper spiral of the Subaru OEM Oil-Cooler that way.
I don't mean the wheel housings! There are real cold air ducts in which a 32mm OD hose fits in.
Just look and you'll find them.
I did that for fun with no serious approach.
I never checked if it truly works out, but it seems the oil cooler ist working a tad better if you are driving fast.
