Takeda Intake Vs. Apexi Air Filter = Daily Driver

Hey guys, I recently was going to pick up an Apexi Air filter but the shop I was going to order from suggested that i should just get an Takeda Intake because of not as much price difference.

I kind of calculated the cost, and I guess the cost difference would only be $200.00 if i would buy a air filter and perrin tube inlet.

However, I heard the air filter gives you great gains, but I've also heard the takeda intake gave great gains also.

I'm wondering, what do you guys suggest...I'm looking for a little extra power without creating too much noise.

Would the extra money be better on a fulle intake system? Or is it not worth the extra money and am I just better off going slowly and buying a air filter and inlet tube down the road?

Thanks!

Just buy the filter. That's all you need. Skip the tube.

from all the tuners I've talked to, You're better off with a drop in filter and a tune.

If you don't want the noise stick with the stock intake. I had an AFE(Takeda) intake on my old BMW. It was loud and sounded mean as f-ck. I loved the sound but the new position of the MAF sensor messed up the air flow readings and the car lost power. It also set off my ECU light from time to time. They eventually released an updated version of their intake which had better power gains but I already spent my money on the old version (and they continue to sell both versions right now). I wouldn't recommend AFE/Takeda intakes for power gain.

Get the Apexi air filter
