BRZ tow hook cut template

I know this might be a long shot, as I've doing a fair few searches and haven't come up with anything but does anyone happen to have the templates for drilling the towhook covers specifically for the BRZ? I know there are threads here with the templates for the FRS, but the towhook, at least on the 2015 BRZ if not earlier, is nothing like those shown in the templates.

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

I think it's because that area is angled more on the BRZ and you have to cut more of an ellipse than a round hole. I removed the cap, installed the shaft of the tow hook, and then used masking tape around it to make my own template. You'll still have to do some fine tuning after that to get it to fit perfect.

I cut mine and was able to get an extremely tight fit. I removed the tow hook cover and installed the tow hook by itself. Then used painters tape aligned on the edges of the portion of the hook that passes through the cover. I left enough painters tape on the various body panels so I could easily follow the lines.

I cut the tape along the covers edges, removed the tow hook, and reinstalled the cover.
I then placed tape over the portions left on the body until it formed an outline on the cover. I cut the hex shape out and test fit.

Due to the angle of the tow hook vs the body lines I had to trim a bit extra for clearance, but ended up with a cut that was nearly flush with the surface of the tow hook.

For reference I was using the Raceseng tow hook.

Of course, when I had a co-worker back into me the repair shop cut the new cover themselves (forgot to ask them not to) and it looks like the typical circlular/oval template cuts. Bugs me a bit.

Here is an image of the cover I cut:

I used a razor blade and some small drill bits.

I'll definitely give this a shot. I'm going to try using a paddle bit to drill it out and then use a gasket to seal it. Will see how it turns out.
