GR engine in AT A960E. Is it possible?

I was looking at the AT transmission and found that is was used in 2006 GS300 which have 3GR engine.

Will this be possible to have any GR family engine with the AT transmision?

The transmission internals maybe the same but the bell housing is the important part that needs to match and I would be surprised if it did.

2gr and 1gr rwd motors use different bellhousings, the 4gr bellhousing is compatible with the 3gr and 2gr, if you were putting a 3gr in an 86 you would want to use the IS250 box aswell, auto or manual

There's some comparison pics of the IS250 RA62 and 86 TL70 boxes here: http://www.turbofast.com.au/GT86.html
