TPMS sensor in spare tire?

I have aftermarket wheels but I transferred my OEM TPMS sensors into my aftermarket wheels to ensure I don't get the yellow "!" light in my dash. It has been off for 10,000+ miles but this morning the light came on and all four of my tires are fully inflated. Does anybody know if there's a sensor in the spare?

I know from experience in my 4Runner that the spare is usually the culprit for the light over there. I know I can go into the spare and check too but with the sub etc in the back I'm too lazy to dig through everything.

Does anybody have a similar experience with the TPMS light coming on despite having the sensors in aftermarket wheels after a considerable # of miles driven. The car is still too new to have the TPMS batteries go out.

no. what psi are they at? just cause they are inflated doesn't mean it won't cause an alert.

Did you actually check the pressures when the light came on? If any tire drops below 27psi (I think, it's in that range), or if there is too big of a difference between tires (5psi IIRC?) the light will come on.

I've had my light come on a few times when the over night temperatures drop a lot.

Get a good pressure gauge and actually check the tires, I'm sure one (or more) is actually low.

I thought the light only came on if the pressure was super super low. If your tires are inflated, one of the sensors might have just gone to shit.

TPMS sensor in spare tire?

Thanks guys. I guess the visual and thumb press method doesn't do too well for low profile tires. When I measured them, they were at 28, 31, 31, & 32. The 28 psi tire must have triggered the TPMS light. Once I inflated them to 39-40 psi, the light went away after half a block of driving. I always thought TPMS was kind of a waste of time... I guess they're actually pretty useful when you don't check tire pressure routinely.

This leads me further towards believing that once the automated transport modules have been approved by the federal government, they're going to sell like hotcakes. Make mine an iModule36.5 in Mint Green. With Jennifer Connelly's voice, please.

OT, I know.
