Turbo selection

So across reading all these build threads and turbo kit offerings, besides treadstone & full race, who offer it, why haven't I've seen anyone choose Borg Warner turbos?

I keep seeing that BW turbo's have aluminum bearings which spin better than the GTX, have IWG's, and nice turbine wheels.

While the GTX series is great and I haven't heard too many problems with PTE turbos; Why haven't many people chosen a BW? They sound like the best option. Is it cause they're too expensive? I mostly see going rates between $2-300 more than a comparable GTX.

Is there something about BW that makes a lot of turbo kit manufactures steer clear from it(at least in the FT86 community)?

A lot of it (on these boards) may be due to the intial turbo selection avaliable from the manufacture of the turbo kit.

Nothing is more tried and true than a Garrett turbo. That is the reason.

So the BW are less reliable than their Garrett counterparts?
