Tune w/bolt ons

Anyone have Headers, Intake system and exhaust and then had it tuned? Curious to see how much whp and torque you gained from all 3 and a tune. Looking at getting a tune, Rev works headers, AEM Intake and i have nvidia exhaust on already.

- Thanks

Intakes are a waste of money, a filter will do just fine. Then get a header and an Openflash tablet and run a stage 2 tune.

My understanding about the stock intake is that infact is very well designed and retrieves cold air already as it is fed from the cold side of the radiator behind the front bumper. As for numbers no i don't have specifics. There is definately no more flat spot from 2800-about 4000...power is much more linear. I traded cars with a friend who has a stocker, difference is huge by my @$$ dyno and he is std and I'm auto.

Gotcha, so you have the perrin filter that mounts infront of the radiator? As in the ft86speedfactory one? I was curious of that one.. seen a lot of people invest in that.

Intake systems are a waste of money because the OEM intake is already pretty well optimized. GrimmSpeed is developing one that shows gains over OEM while maintaining a reasonable AFR, but most of the intakes make power by tricking the MAF sensor and leaning out the AFR.

Vishnu Tuning (maker of the OFT) has dyno charts for stage one and stage two tunes. Stage one is a filter, stage two is a filter and UEL catless header. Stage two will take you to mid-180 whp.

drop in filter info: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13245

I know there is a thread somewhere showing the dyno results of different intakes, but can't find it. If I remember correctly, the best gains were ~3hp at top end. and some made less power due to throwing off the maf

Tons of data in Grimmspeed's thread.
+1. Grimmspeed went above and beyond with this one.
Earned my business whenever they finally put their intake into production.
Only minimal gains without a tune but a possible 6-10 hp to the ground with a tune and intake only. That's a true 4-8% gain for minimal money imo. Add headers, full exhaust and tune and now you're(supposedly) looking at 25-30 hp to the ground gains. That's over 15% gains. Granted you'll have $2000ish in all that. But N/A with around 180 hp to the ground and this car comes alive. Or so I've read.
Currently saving for my OFT, Headers, and dyno time.
