Broken stud on stock header
Last night while installing my motiv overpipe to my stock header, one of the studs snapped in half when removing the one of the two nuts where the overpipe and header meet.
I used WD40 on them before trying to remove them but I guess they seized up pretty badly ![]() So now I have a pretty bad exhaust leak since only one nut keeps them together. My question is, would there be any possible way to replace the stud? I want to hold out on purchasing a brand new header but there might be no other option. I can also try seeing if the dealership will cover it under warranty, but I have a full headerback so they might give me shit for it. |

You want a true cheap fix? Have a shop plasma cut holes into your stock header and create an aftermarket-like hole. Much better option then just put a regular nut/bolt combo on it and call it done. I had a seized nut on my stock header and had the studs cut off then holes blown through. Worked out real well. |
