ECUtek Stage 1 vs Stage 2

Just looking for additional wisdom, if the tunes cost the same what would stop a consumer from selecting the stage 2 tune which supposedly increases gains. I only have improved air filter and cat back exhaust system 3 inch pipe and always run the care rich with ATLEAST 91 octane. Certainly being a newbie here but why wouldnt I select stage 2 over stage 1? Is it simply different tunes that offer different driving experiences?

The whole stage 1 2 thing is specific to each tuner so your mileage may vary, but generally stage 2 is if you have aftermarket headers.

Using a tune made for headers on a car without them won't give you more power. It will likely rob you of power, actually.

As Foobar mentioned, different tuners have different definitions for what the stages mean.

Our stage 1 tune covers any N/A (naturally aspirated) modifications (or completely stock car) while using the stock header.

Our stage 2 tune covers any N/A modifications while using an aftermarket header. I have developed optimized tunes for equal length and unequal length headers, as there are differences between the two.

You would not want to run our stage2 tune with the stock header. You could run our stage1 tune with an aftermarket header, but to maximize your gains, you would want our stage2 tune with an aftermarket header.

We don't do stages. As said above it is tuner specific, but we tune for each car individually to optimize each setup. If you're going to go through the effort you might as well get your money's worth.
