Corner Balancing
Hey guys so I just finished installing my KW V3 coilovers and I used the Raceseng camber plates for the front. Also I did a alignment on the car.
My question is for daily use and as a car I use to go everywhere is it important to get the car corner balanced or is this something thats more of a track setup thing. |

Two schools of thought, the point of individually adjustable dampers and ride height is to be able to get cross balance 50/50 and to have ability to setup car per instance/track.
Real world is most people dont use any of it and just want a quick drop. So the real question is what is a proper setup worth to you namely after spending a few thousand on parts? Is a cross balance needed for street? No but why half as* it when you have already invested so much into it not to finish the last detail?

Why did you spend lots more on V3's over V1's (or ST), and buy one of the most expensive camber plate options for something that's purely daily driven and you won't be taking advantage of the adjustment options? If you're not tracking it autocrossing it, I would also get rid of the camber plates and run the OEM upper mounts. They're quieter, last longer and don't require maintenance like the spherical bearings will. The KW struts are slotted, so you have some camber adjustment with them as well. If you plan to make use of the adjustments and extra camber you can get from the plates, then get the car corner balanced.

Thanks for the input guys. I do hear noise from the camber plates after driving it for one day. I agree with spending that much money and rather just have it corner balanced to have the setting correct.
I do plan on tracking it once in awhile. So i guess I will get it done to be adjusted perfectly. Thanks for the info guys. |

You spent a lot of money already. While you may not notice a great corner balance, you certainly will notice if the corner balance is off.
Get your ride height where you want it first. Then, get it corner balanced. The shop you choose should be able to keep it pretty close to your ride height. Well to be fair, everything he did regarding the suspension was considering CSG and RCE say the stock set up for "once in a while" tracking is already damn good....

I won't doubt them being wrong. But I don't like wheel gap at all and want to lower it. I know everyone is going to say why did you go with kw v3 then when you could have bought $1000 coil overs. The answer to that is I like to pay the price for the quality stuff.
