86 /BRZ Drivers Manual in Chinese
Hi guys new to here
![]() Im hoping someone can help me out, I am trying to get a Chinese manufacturer to make an electrical part for our cars and have run into a wall. I need to get the English handbook translated into Chinese but after searching the net for many nights have come up with zero. Does anyone know if there is a copy made for the Chinese market and where to get it from please?? A few of the guys in our 86 club said that the US group was the best way to go if they cant help then basically im screwed.. Thanks Mick

Do you need a specific part translated? My step-mother is a Chinese translator but I doubt she would do the whole thing for you.

google translate app on the phone (android) lets you take a photo of the text you want to translate.

You know how some things sounded so retarded when you trsnalated them into English using auto translate? I am sure it goes the other way round too.
However I must commend your bravery in asking Chinese manufacturer to design and custom made electrical component which requiring them to read the manual for the first time. What is this component we're talking about? |

Hi, yeah I thought trying to translate the manual myself through Google translate but was worried about all the different dialects and if it would make any sense to them.
The part im trying to get made is the auto fold mirrors. You probably know of the Tomtop sold through ebay for about $12 per unit. The problem with it is its a generic part for any car. Finding the correct wires to join is possible and there is info out there but you need to cut wires to fit it in. Cutting wires and soldering rules a lot of people out on top thats probably gonna void warranties, so a PnP part is necessary. I realise there are after market parts out there which are plug and play but they range in excess of $150 each. Its for this reason I sought a manufacturer who already designs many auto fold mirrors for other cars and asked them to make one explicitly for our 86 BRZ FR-S. They are happy to do it and the part will work out very cheap (sub $30 postage included or lower depending on numbers being made) but they need to know each wire and its purpose. I gave them the workshop manual in English and told them that page they should be looking at is 265 (however thats probably not the only page) someone here may be able to give more info on this. I spose in the end I could just buy the original part from Toyota or Subaru and send it to them and have them copy it exactly, it may save a lot of stuffing around. So how can ya help? the guy chaoskaze mentioned above in Jiansu (is that W_josh) if so he could be the key, I hope he understands English as i'll contact him to see if he's happy to help out with a copy of his workshop manual if he has it? |

No really :0
I did say in my last post "I realise there are already OEM PnP kits out there" however they are $150 plus (please correct me by inserting a link of anything PNP less than $100) even group buys I've seen cant find anything cheaper than $120 PnP. Im trying to get the part for everyone and it will cost around $30 each and thats delivered. So yes I guess you can say im trying to reinvent the wheel but the twist is, at a huge saving to all

w_josh has a limited understanding of English, but it is good enough to communicate. He will be able to understand, but not sure if he can help.

So all these efforts to save about a hundred bucks and buy some tailor-made "electrical part" from some Chinese guys who know nothing about the car and can't read English? And they are supposed to manufacture a part which will be inserted into electrical harness of your vehicle?
Are you sure it's worthwhile usage of your time? I bet you can earn that $100 at any job in Australia (your fine for parking at a taxi space is twice as much - tested ) using the same amount of time, efforts and nerves. And you'll get a genuine part which for sure will not cause a fire in your car...

Sorry I think you missed my point, sure im after the part for myself but my main objective was to bring a part to the wider 86 BRZ FR-S owners who would like the part but wish to only spend a minimal amount. The chinese are pretty clever I wouldnt go writing them off so quickly. The manufacturer im dealing with makes these parts for a large number of other car models so its not something new to them. I see it as helping out everyone, yes my time can be spent on better things, yes I can make a shit load more cash on other things but sometimes thats not the objective of the game.... |
