Tire question

I read most all of the posts here and really have not gotten any definitive answers on what are the best tires i.e. Brand & size for the oem rims

My goal is to make the rear end a bit less squirrely when stepping on the gas during a turn.

My instinct tells me this ought to do what I want
215/40/17 XL90W Nitto NT NeoGen ZR

I was thinking of leaving the fronts alone unless the driving feels too loose.

Would like opinions on the SIZE & BRAND

TY

What are the differences between the MPSS and Nitto Invos? In terms of comfort, vibration, dry/wet traction..

I will say the Michelin Sport A/S 3 tires are fantastic. Far better grip than the Primacy's. Better tread life and comfort than the Super Sports and pretty close to the traction of the Super Sport's. Super Sport's are summer high performance class and the Sport A/S 3's are all weather. I kept the 215 size over the 225's since the 225's will have more rolling resistance. http://www.michelinman.com/tire-sele...R-S/Base/tires

Michelin PSS in stock size.

Their customer service is much better, they offer free towing if you have a flat, and they actually guarantee their Tread Warranty even in NON-NORMAL Driving Conditions.

If you look at other brands, they only guarantee their tread warranty for normal driving conditions.

I wouldn't consider another brand other than Michelin just because of what this company offers. They actually stand behind their products.

Michelin Sport A/S 3

You'll get a second vote from me. Amazing in the rain.

Exactly what I'm wondering. I'm getting Michelin Sport A/S 3 this week (it gets cold here otherwise I'd be getting the super sport) and I'd love to know the pros and cons of 215 vs 225.

What is rolling resistance?

Answering my own questions: "In the broad sense, specific "rolling resistance" (for vehicles) is the force per unit vehicle weight required to move the vehicle on level ground at a constant slow speed where aerodynamic drag (air resistance) is insignificant and also where there are no traction (motor) forces or brakes applied. In other words the vehicle would be coasting if it were not for the force to maintain constant speed"

Does that mean I'll consume more fuel with the 225?
How will turning be affected 215 vs 225?

I'm not sure how the feel of the car will change when I go from stock to A/S 225 (which seems to be the leading choice at the moment). Would love to hear from the pros.

I stuck with stock size. AS3 at stock size made the steering very sharp, and the back end holds on better. These thing fight for sideways grip, even when spinning.

+1 on Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 for better comfort, longer tirewear. Treadwear is 500!!
but since you're in FL and don't mind stiffer tires, go with PSS.

I love my A/S3. Amazing in rain, I swoosh through on rainy days.

Stick with stock size of 215/45/17. Michelin Super Sports are pretty much best summer street tire you can buy, and amazing in the rain too. Get the same tire on all four corners, don't leave the fronts and mix match tires. Careful you pick the correct size when ordering, your 215/40/17 XL90W Nitto NT NeoGen ZR are a side wall size down from stock, not sure if typo. Does it get close to freezing temps in Florida? If so maybe the A/S3 like others have mentioned would be a better all year tire.
