Installing Playstion 1, SNES etc In your Car

Hey guys

I tend to be the one asking questions and i have done something where i can actually provide help with. You are doing this at your own risk of course.

For those of you with a Nexus 7 installed in your car.
(i hope this tutorial isnt already around)
I have installed some emulators for PS1 and SNES giving me or passengers the ability to play ps1 and super nintendo games on my nexus using a wireless ps3 controller.
in this tutorial i'll be using 'sixaxis controller' app and 'epsxe' both available in playstore. It should work but im afraid i cant confirm this tutorial using xbox controllers.

The how to:
1. First of all there are a few emulators but i downloaded and paid for epsxe because its a great working emulator and i have had no problems with it.

2. Next i downloaded the Sixaxis controller app by dancing pixel studios
(the free app test compatibility of your device pairing with the controllers, the paid one actually does the work)
feel free to test out the compatibility first.

3. open the app and it will give you the bluetooth adress of your nexus 7.

4. visit this link and run the installer
http://www.dancingpixelstudios.com/s...ller/tool.html
you could follow the instructions there but i'll type them anyway.

5. once the program is running, plug in your controller.

6. it will state the current Bluetooth address of your controller. type in the bluetooth address given to you by the sixaxis app (the same as your nexus) and click update.

7.now that your controller(s) are on the same signal as your nexus. go back to that app and click the start button. the app will start listening for the controllers so press the button on the controllers to start searching for a device. They should pair up

8. click Change IME in the sixaxis app and change the setting to 'dualshock'
you'll notice you can control the screen with the controller now

9. open epsxe. if you click run game it will scan and tell you that you need a particular file and the game roms of course. i downloaded the file from here
http://romcollector.com/emulators.html
"SCPH1001.BIN BIOS - DOWNLOAD (512kb) " under Playstation.

10. copy that file into the SD card folder on your nexus

11. Create a folder in the SD card folder called PS1 Roms and place whatever PS1 roms you have in this folder. i used the doperoms website to download the roms that i already own.

12. under nexus 7 settings go to language and input and enable sixaxis controller and then click its settings.
general settings: i checked auto start and enable vibration
gamepad settings: i checked enable gamepad

13. In epsxe go to preferences > input preferences > player 1
change settings to Pad type psx : dualshock
select game pad: select the ps3 controller
do this for every controller your going to connect.

14. with the roms transfered over to your device in a specified folder.
click run game and navigate to that folder. (for the game to work it should be uncompressed and have two files .cue and also .bin)
click on the .bin file to start the game.

15. when you are finished playing, open the sixaxis app back up and click 'stop'
this will close the connection from your controller to the nexus and turn the controller off.

Your now playing PS1 on your nexus installed in your car.
Enjoy
