Wheel Directory: Gram Lights 57Xtreme 17x9.0 +40

Haven’t seen this setup yet so here it is:

Rays Gram Lights 57Xtreme
17x9 +40
custom Mag Blue powder coat
245/40-17 Federal SS-595 square
stock suspension, stock alignment

Pardon the rally ride height:

Comparison pics…

Before/After

Before/After

Before/After

Here’s the new and old tire side by side. Look at that extra meat:

The new wheel/tire combo is a bit heavier than stock: 45.75 lbs, vs oem ~42 lbs.

The wheels poke slightly at stock ride height and alignment, but not bad.

Front:

Rear:

No rubbing, even at full lock. No issues at the fender or liner, front or rear. There’s about 5mm clearance between inside front tire and spring perch, not enough space to get any camber using crash bolts while on the stock springs. I’ll probably do camber plates instead so I can run RCE Yellows. I don’t want spacers or any more offset if I can avoid it.

This is just step one. Suspension mods to follow.

Much thanks to Randy at Evasive Motorsports for setting this up for me. He was a huge help getting hold of the size I wanted and lined up the custom powder coating which turned out perfect. Can’t say enough positive about Evasive!

These are the exact size I wanted for these wheels, they look beautiful! I wish I had the cash for these :'( Maybe once I am out of college.

Nicely done! I really like the hot Lava/blue scheme. Had you have gone Lava /teal, I might have barfed right about now! I can't wait to see the lowered pics.

Did you get a shop to do that powder coating or you can order custom color from rays?

Evasive Motorsports works with a shop local to them for custom wheel coatings, and offered to have a set of silver wheels coated for a reasonable charge before shipping them out. They sent sample pics before I placed the order so I could judge the color.

Otherwise they don't come in mag blue, but you can find "Winning Blue" and "Velvet Marine" blue straight from Rays. Both are more of a matte finish and not as dark. Problem is they're only stocked in 18". The 17's would be special order from Rays for those colors.

Those are really nice wheels! I'm thinking of running a sized wheel similar to yours for the track. Do you notice more body roll compared to the stock setup? I'm just wondering since your offset is a 8mm difference from stock. Thanks

Thanks! No additional body roll noticed, except what comes from more aggressive cornering on more grip. The car feels much more planted mostly due to the tires.
