Are the Forester and BRZ FA20 short blocks the same and/or interchangeable?

I believe someone on here actually had both blocks and said they are identical except for the starter location, or the forester lacking a starter.

The top end of a FA20 will bolt directly to a FB25.

it won't work due to starter loction on the block, and the pistons don't work with our spray pattern..

so if you want a new crank and rods ... thats about all u can use..

Is the starter position so different that it won't fit int th car? If he is planning on building anyways it won't matter if the pistons are different.

That is such a ridiculous price. Bad bearing fixes for the win!
