Fixed up probably worth $20K. Salvage title is a hard sell though. I guess a shop could fix it for maybe $8k. Who knows maybe less, depends cost of parts.

At that point, the car will never be the same anymore. Salvage/rebuilt is exactly that. I'd say $5000 for that car because it's mainly good for parts. Crash crumple area did its job and the frame is surely tweaked. Sure you can pull the frame on a rack, but it will never be the same anymore.

...somebody with an ae86 should snap this up!

Fa20 powered ae86 would be gravy all day all night.

No way repaired, as a salvage vehicle, would it be worth 20k! It could be repaired to BETTER than new, and you'd be lucky to sell it for 15K...maybe... Salvage repair stigma just KILLS a car's resale value.

Maybe at retail. I'm sure a shop that fixes it will be looking for a profit.

If the engine was in there I would have easily purchased that car a few months back.

Of course, but no way 20k, unless they try and hide it's salvage.

I was thinking along those lines...for $8K and some structural work, a person could have themselves a decent dedicated track hack.

Ae86 has tons of room to mount our drivetrain in it. It's the exhaust stuff that I see to be an issue though.
