I think it's nothing more than an overpriced piece of bling that serves little to no function whatsoever.

SO I know the price is high, and what you are telling me is that the quality is junk?

It does serve the purpose intended by sealing off a potential escape route of cooling air from the fan with negligible weight gain.

Whether it is marginally effective or very effective would require testing of coolant temps before and after installation. But if you track, every little bit helps.

In comparison to other carbon fiber cosmetic bling parts it is fairly inexpensive ($125) bling , (look at the $900 rear window plastic cheese grater ! LOL). And it has a purpose other than looks.

You can make your own cooling plate out of tin or plastic sheeting much cheaper if you have the time to make a cardboard template etc.

After getting APR mirrors, I've been pretty turned off by APR in general. Quality isn't there.

Some of my club members have various APR carbon fiber pieces and the quality looked ok to me (as good as Seibon, perhaps subjectively a little less 3 dimensional looking, depending on the viewer).

It should be remembered that APR like Seibon may have fitment issues due to warping etc. due to the manufacturing process (I have heard of fitment issues with Seibon being hit and miss).

I did get a Seibon rear diffuser and the dealer was aware enough of fitment issues that his arrangement with Seibon was that if the prefit at the dealer wasn't good I was not committed to purchase and Seibon would junk the diffuser.

It did fit well.

I have ordered one, just waiting for my dealer (Fensport) to get it across from the USA (due next week).

I will post up some pictures and my impressions when I get it.

Correct. Junk. Customer service is even worse. You don't have to take my word for it. Normally, I keep quiet and let people learn on their own terms. Here is what I bought:

- APR GT Bumper - Junk
- APR GT3 CF Mirrors - Junk
- Carbign Craft (aka APR) CF trunk trim - Junk

Over $1500 in Junk. Only recovered $100 of it.

I saw a mounted CF trunk trim - It looked good to me !
Also an unmounted cooling plate (don't know about fitment) but the finish looked good.

Must have been that

In my case, good is not when the screws on the back of the CF trunk trim don't line up with the holes on the trunk. The screws on the CF piece didn't even line up with the screws on the OEM piece, but that's a given. Tired of paying good $ for junk and being steamrolled by greedy manufacturers.

Considering the "cooling plate" is sitting behind the radiator on these cars, it's doing nothing. It's a bling piece nothing more.

Some cars it works on, most it does nothing.

It extends far past the radiator. I have this piece and the quality and fitment is great, I also have the APR front splitter and the quality on that is top notch as well.
