who has a custom exhaust?

Who here has a custom exhaust abed up by yourself or an exhaust shop? I am trying to figure out what kind of muffler combos sound good. I am pretty confident that I can either weld up and exhaust or have someone else weld one up for me for less then what most people are charging. As we all pretty much know, the majority of power gains are all from headers, front pipe, and over pipe, so I don't see why just an axle back should be so expensive.

I did 3" from the cat back, stainless, V-Bands, with a 18" resonator and then a modified diesel muffler. I get quite a few compliments on the sound. I
m redoing it now though because 3" piping hangs pretty far down under the rear diff...

This is the sound of it through a GoPro. No drone, no rasp, and it's quiet enough at highway speeds to talk over it without issue. It's VERY loud during initial cold idle though.

Any pics of that exhaust.

I'm planning to do my own. Most likely a borla style but better quality

That sounds pretty good. If you don't mind me asking, how much do you have into that?

I don't think I have any, but I can go take some tomorrow. It's currently off the car since I'm doing a bunch of work under there, but I can throw it back on in like 5 minutes. :P

Thanks! Costs so far:

20' of 3" stainless - 170
Two 3" Stainless v-band - 50
Stainless diesel 3" straight through muffler - 70
3" stainless resonator - 50

I've only used about 6' of the stick of tubing, so that's 52 bucks. I'm 220 deep at this point.

Haha, no problem. You doing the bends yourself? That was my biggest worry. Only one place in RI that mandrel bends, not sure what he will charge. Getting straight pipes not a problem. Buying separate bends to weld got expensive

Do you have any kind of tune? Stock, cold start can be kind of high in the rpms with aftermarket exhaust..

I work in a machine shop, so I have access to a horizontal bandsaw. I just did a bunch of pie cuts and piece everything together. It's tedious, but like you said buying mandrel bends is very expensive.

No tune. I've just started looking at tuning options recently. The idle is pretty damn high when cold, but I've just been leery of doing any tuning, because I'm worried about the DI seals failing.

I promise I'll get pics today off the exhaust, but they'll be a bit later in the day because I have to help my sister move beforehand.

Edit: Soooo about that promise.. eff!

I'll get outside tomorrow and grab some pics, sorry guys.
