Perrin exhaust tips

I'm thinking of switching out the tips on my car until I can drop the $ on a catback. The Perrin ones look nice, but I see a huge price discrepancy. Some sites list them for $160-$180, while others are about $90-$100 less! Wondering if the cheapies are counterfeit? The more expensive ones are from known vendors to this forum, but I'm not sure about those selling the cheap ones.

At the higher price, I'd probably just skip it and save my money, but the lower price could be worth it. I'm not posting the vendors here, try a google search to see what I mean.

I got the perrin tips directly from Perrin. The quality is unbeatable and adds that missing look that the stock tips don't provide. I am not sure how "others" are providing for a insanely low price. I would suggest staying away from non-reputable vendors. Stick to the ones that are currently active and provide good customer support.

When you see it on sites that have it basically half the price. For the most part you are looking at a single tip listing, it should be noted it in the description. Sometimes it doesn't but it's usually just for the price of one when you see it that way.

^That's a good point, I will go check!

Just did so, and I think you hit it. They don't really make it clear though, both on the sites with the higher prices and the lower ones. One was very clear and said "sold as a pair (2x)".

I'm not sure if some of the cheaper ones are not reputable, or just places I've not heard of that could be just find. I'm always leery of prices 50% of what others offer!

Well, cycleboy, I'd recommend that you get the gen-u-wine Perrin tips. That way you know they will fit right and look nice. Then, on down the road if you replace the muffler, you can sell them or keep them on your OEM muffler for when you sell or trade in the car (they will still look nice).

Quickest way to get them is through Perrin themselves. Oddly enough most vendors common FRS/BRZ vendors prices are cheaper than Perrin's own site on the same products. This includes intakes and exhaust. I found this out while shopping for my 3" catback.

I'm seriously considering this to be my next mod. And like you said a good stop gap until an exhaust system.

I'm not even sure on why this didn't notify me.

You would be correct in that statement. Our dealers are able to get a slight discount off our MSRP, which allows their pricing to be a bit more appealing.

We do not want to compete with the dealers and undercut them, so our prices are usually a bit higher.

However, wether you get our parts directly from us, or from one of our awesome dealers, you're still going to get the same PERRIN quality and support!
