its a jeep thats far too expensive and pretty to do the things a jeep should do. For that, it can't be cool.

I'm torn honestly between cool and uncool on this one.......

Imho this is one of the nicest looking trucks every made, and arguably the only truck I'd actually consider buying... especially with an SRT-8 body kit (I could care less about performance in a truck)

But on the other hand..... it's a Jeep. A Jeep is supposed to be built with the SOLE intent of letting you climb really whatever the fuck you want to, and bring you back in one piece which the former this can't do

Dictionaries might define ?stealthy? as ?quiet and secret in order to avoid being noticed?, but automakers and car fans alike have a very different definition of what that means.

In the world of automobiles, the term ?stealthy? is almost always applied to vehicles fully painted or accented in shades that bring to mind Stealth aircrafts, and which usually has the opposite effect when it comes to being noticed?

Jeep says its new Grand Cherokee SRT Night that will be unwrapped at the LA Auto Show next week ?features a stealth-like appearance? and by that, it means a gloss-black finish for the roof, rear spoiler, front grille bezels, B and C pillars, and side window surrounds, and satin black for the badges, upper and lower front grilles, and the 20-inch alloys.

Exterior color options for the rest of the body include Velvet Red, Billet Silver and Granite Crystal. As for the inside, Jeep added ?Black Laguna? leather seats with silver accent stitching and light black chrome bezels.

No changes were made under the hood where the SRT sports 6.4-liter V8 HEMI engine capable of 475 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque, for a 0-60mph (96km/h) time of 4.8 seconds, a 0-100-0 mph in 16.3 seconds, a quarter mile run in the 13-second range and a top speed of 160mph (257km/h).

eep has taken the wraps off the 2016 Grand Cherokee SRT.

Despite looking virtually identical to last year's model, the 2016 Grand Cherokee SRT boasts a number of improvements including a new instrument panel with a "more enhanced and high-performance look." Jeep declined to release pictures but the instrument cluster has a 7-inch digital display with a tachometer that has been relocated to the center of the display.

Speaking of displays, there's updated Performance Pages with an "expanded array of performance timers and gauge readouts." There are also several new drive modes which have unique settings for the all-wheel drive system, transmission, paddle shifters, stability control, suspension and steering. These include:

Custom — Allows driver to personalize the vehicle’s performance
Auto — Activates automatically when starting the vehicle
Sport — Delivers increased vehicle performance capability over the Auto Mode
Track — Delivers maximum vehicle performance capability on smooth, dry surfaces
Snow – Delivers optimized snow and ice performance
Tow – Delivers maximum towing performance
Eco — Maximizes fuel economy with a revised shift schedule, pedal map and second-gear starts

The high-performance model also gains a new Valet mode which will put a frown on the face of rouge parking attendants as it "significantly" reduces the engine's output, activates the electronic stability control system and prevents the driver from using Launch Control - among other things.

While the rumored Hellcat engine is still a no-show, the 6.4-liter V8 isn't anything to complain about as it produces 475 bhp (354 kW) and 470 lb-ft (636 Nm) of torque. It enables the Grand Cherokee SRT to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds and run the quarter mile in the "mid 13 second range" at a top speed of 160 mph (257 km/h).

In one of the worst kept secrets in the auto industry, Jeep has confirmed that the Grand Cherokee SRT Hellcat is coming. The news comes from Vvuzz, which has Jeep CEO Mike Manley on camera confirming the monstrous SUV.

Manley confirmed that the Jeep, which we hope will offer the same 707-horsepower version of Chrysler's 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 as the Dodge Challenger and Charger, will arrive before the end of 2017. This, friends, is grand news.

By the time the Grand Cherokee Hellcat arrives, it'll be faced with an array of high-performance challengers from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover, and Porsche. But, if things stay the way they are with the competition and SRT engineers can bring the Hellcat engine's full output to bear on an all-wheel-drive platform, the Grand Cherokee will have a power advantage ranging from 130 to 157 hp. It's one thing to best the competition by a dozen horsepower, it's entirely different to outgun them by an entire Toyota Corolla.

Expect much more on the Grand Cherokee SRT Hellcat in the coming months.
