Flex piping having leaks?

Anyone have experience with this? This is my first car, and my first car and I am new to this sort of stuff. I was wondering cause I will soon have headers and a catback with some flex pipes and I don't really enjoy them leaking.

Well I have a Perrin Catback, and their stuff seems pretty good. I am planning on getting some JDL headers. Hopefully their stuff is pretty good, it comes with a lifetime warranty.

I expressed the same concern to JDL once they voiced how they swapped to that kind of flex pipe in the header.

On every exhaust i've had or seen with the flex joint in it, they have broken down over time and leaked. JDL's flex joint isn't a typical exhaust flex and has 3 layers.

I am still worried but hopefully they are ok.

If anything does happen, you can probably get it replaced. Athough that would be a pain. If they won't replace it(which they should, it comes with a lifetime warranty), you can always take it to a shop and get the joints removed.

I'm guessing taking it to a shop would void the warranty.

Yeah, but that is a last resort sort of deal. Only do it if they won't honor the warranty, but most people do replace parts.

Maybe I shouldn't have worded it that way, I realize they have a lifetime warranty. Just saying on the typical exhaust flex joints, I always find they break after a while.

The one on my exhaust on my sti was a few years old and had the leak from it.
