PlastiDip stock wheels

Anyone done this yet?
How many cans did you take?
Also, did you use any enhancers?

I'm thinking about plasti dipping my stock wheels but I don't want to mess them up. No one seen any bleeding or scraped them when removing plasti dip?

Everyone and their mother have plasti dipped their stock FR-S/BRZ wheels. (That's why I didn't bother.) The wheel directory has a few.

Expect a can for each wheel. The triplets have really low covering area, so it shouldn't even take that much. It wouldn't hurt to have an extra can though.

Cool thanks. I'm not planning on doing the whole surface so I"ll need some good tape.
WOuld it take a whole can of enhancer per wheel too? like glos or the metalizer?

Hence the, "it shouldn't even take that much". Only 2 cans is pretty good though.

I did my wheels but it started to peel in a week so I took it all off. I might try it again as I have more cans leftover.

I did 3-4 coats with very good surface prep...It will scratch real easy and peal. The other day I just painted them black with matte clear(duplicolor). Lays out smoother and should last A LOT longer.

Thanks for the tips guys. I think this plus some spacers will be aesthetics mod #1.

Any tips on keeping them from peeling? Is it ok to just give it a light spray over any peeling spots?

Mine have been fine for 6 months including summer, winter and about 10 hours of track time so far.
Thy key is coats. I left 20-30 min between coats. My first 2 coats were both about 50% transparent then my last 3 coats covered everything. Be smooth and even. You don't want runs!

Did mine anthracite to be a little different. Only took 2.5 cans and then I used the clear plasti dip over it.
