In Dyno we trust, so let's bring some data

So an idea was presented in one of the several current, very 'noisy', tuner threads that maybe a thread or place to actually post real data from USERS would be useful. So I thought, what the hell, I can do that. So here it is.

FA20 (the motor not the man) dyno data sheet

I am agnostic in this, I have my opinions, but mostly it's frustration. I don't think bashing each other makes anyone look good, vendors or forum members. I will point out I am not entirely immune from that criticism myself. If you talked to people in real life, they would tell you I am a grouch. In the end, I don't care who you are, car people like data so lets put it together.

If anyone has feedback on the form or the data please feel free to give it.

Note: I am humbly asking people be honest. I really have no way of policing such a thing, and I am not going to require a dyno chart. I would also ask the tuner's themselves to just stay the hell away from the form. If it isn't in a customer's hand it isn't really serving the point of this attempt.

RESULTS HERE

But not all dynos produce the same results. It has been said some where in these forums that one type of dyno produces higher results than an other. That is an inertia dyno give different results from a constant load dyno (can't remember its name). Also, from what I have read, there is variation between the same sort of dyno. Maybe it would be better to give before and after numbers to see the increase in power as opposed to the absolute value.

Great idea, I'd post but mine is just a regular dyno pull with no tune.. I like the format you have, all the way down to the dyno type.. Hope this gets put to use and can later be a sticky

To be pedantic, EVERY dyno produces different results. To your actual point, yes very true, differetn brands and different energy absorption methods produce different readings. I have a line item in there for dyno type.

Post it, if nothing else it helps generate more data, a better baseline, and can be used to track improvements and variance..

I was going to say you should add an attachment for the drf files if dynojet.

Then you can overlay until your hearts content.

Looks great. Maybe update this thread every once in a while with a link to the database or a screen grab?

There are two boxes at the end, you can upload any type of file not just images.
