US BRZ NAV bypass idea

Since there are the new Nav update which also checks the speed of the vehicle via the speed the GPS is reporting and putting a switch on the VSS line doesn't help,

Did anyone try to put a switch on the GPS antenna line as well? Basically disabling the GPS system making the radio think you are not moving?

I know it will disable the GPS but it will enable using the features that are grayed out like the dial pad and watching a movie.

If you are watching a movie (your passenger) then you are not using the navigation system anyways.

When my rear view camera comes in I am going to disconnect the GPS antenna input and drive around like that to see if it enables the grayed out options.

Should be next week.

I'm working on this as we speak. Anyone local to the Edison Park / NW Chicago area that wants to be a beta tester?
